Astrid Gate glass design
Astrid Gate is a well-established, international
glass artist, granddaughter of one of the pioneers
of Swedish glass design - Simon Gate.
Astrid’s feeling for glass is immediately understood.
With a wide range of knowledge within a number of
techniques she has the touch to create the attractive.
Her unique pieces have many depths and her
designs are rich in detail and shade. She describes
her work with a degree of humility found only
in those who possess the highest levels of skills.
She works systematically to create her art and
is personally responsible for many of the stages
of production, in the spirit of her grandfather.
Astrid Gate är en väletablerad, internationell
glasartist, barnbarn till Simon Gate, en av
pionjärerna inom svensk glasdesign. Astrids känsla för glas
framgår omedelbart. Grundligt bevandrad inom
olika tekniker har hon förmågan att skapa det
tilltalande.
Hennes unika pjäser har många djup och motiven är rika på detaljer och nyanser. Hon beskriver sitt arbete så ödmjukt som bara någon som besitter stor kunskap kan göra.
Systematiskt arbetar hon fram sin konst och utför
många av momenten själv i farfar Simon Gates anda.
